Inclusive Education Africa to roll out schools training programme

Inclusive Education Africa, a human rights NGO that promotes inclusive education, will soon roll out a programme to train teachers to effectively handle children with special needs and disabilities.

The Programme is aimed at ensuring that all children with special needs and disabilities access education

Ms Amanda Budge, Founder of Inclusive Education Africa (IEAfrica) told the media that her organization is passionate about delivering the sustainable development goals 3 and 4,reiterating that “We believe every child matters”.

The IEAfrica exists to ensure that children who need specialist support, to achieve their potential in schools do so, she said.

Inclusive Education Africa was founded in 2014to address the critical conditions that many children with disabilities are grappling with.

Ms Budge, who is also the head of Multikids Inclusive Academy, an Inclusive International school in Ghana said: “I believe that good inclusive education offers the opportunity for all learners to make a positive contribution to a tolerant and compassionate society”.

She urged schools, especially early childhood development centres, to be open to the idea of inclusive education.
